New product
Each new product is based on active substances which have been approved for use in the European Union.
The new formulations are subjected to many examinations, analyses and tests before they reach the market and the final customer.
EU standards and regulations
The active substance, formulations additives and the formulation itself must meet the stringent requirements of several regulations of the Parliament and the European Commission, including the major ones, such as:
– Regulation No. 1907/2006 (REACH), aimed at protecting human health and environment against hazards related to chemicals (or the use of chemicals),
– Regulation No. 1107/2009, controlling the authorisation of plant protection products.
Product registration
Plant Protection Products must obligatorily pass the registration process which guarantees safety and effectiveness of use. The complex and long-lasting process of authorisation for use of the preparation involves the submission of relevant documentation to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MRiRW). Such documentation should confirm efficiency and lack of negative impact of the plant protection product on crops, human health and environment. Product documentation in the registration process is also reviewed by Polish recognised scientific institutes.
The Modern Synthos AGRO Production Plant
Individual production, packing and warehouse halls are located on one level, which optimises transport operations and thus minimises the impact on the environment. Dedicated fungicide, herbicide and insecticide systems enable limiting the amount of sewage generated during production in the situation of changing the product range. The complex is equipped with automatic systems that counteract interference and stop the system in the event of a failure or exceeding the permissible emission levels. We use a separation system of technological, rainwater and sanitary sewage. There are detectors installed in the rooms, that is anti-emission sensors that detect leaks, and the building itself has a fire protection switch.
CLP classification and labelling
All Synthos AGRO plant protection products are classified and labelled in accordance with the rules contained in the Regulation of the European Parliament No. 1272/2008 (CLP). The most important goal of the CLP rules is to determine whether a chemical substance or a mixture poses a physical, health and/or environmental hazard. The rules also serve to provide information other actors in the supply chain, in an appropriate way, through appropriate labelling when the product is placed on the market. For effective product monitoring, Synthos AGRO has introduced internal procedures for the circulation of Safety Data Sheets for Raw Materials, Semi-finished Products and Finished Products.
ISO standards
The Integrated Management System functioning at Synthos AGRO is a continuation of the quality, environment and safety management standards built since 1993 in the Synthos Group. Since May 2018, Synthos AGRO has been certified for compliance with the standards EN ISO 9001: 2015 and EN ISO 14001: 2015 and with PN-N 18001: 2004 issued by TÜV NORD. We place great emphasis on continuous improvement and improvement of the quality of our products, while controlling the impact of chemical production on the environment and the environment.
The storage system
Plant Protection Products are stored in special high storage warehouses. Proper storage ensures product quality and safety of the employees who have access to those products. Pesticide products are stored in original containers and labelled in a way that makes it easier to identify them. On the other hand, filling the storage tanks with liquid raw materials is always performed in a hermetic manner. The warehouses are equipped with detectors for the concentration of flammable vapours. Raw materials and auxiliary materials, classified as hazardous ones, are stored only in optimal quantities necessary for the proper course of the production process.
Qualified personnel
The persons involved in transport and sale of pesticides are properly trained and hold appropriate permits required by law. They also have access to the necessary information, such as safety data sheets, so that they can provide advice to interested parties and purchasers regarding risk reduction as well as efficient and safe use.
Transport licences
Plant protection products are transported in properly equipped vehicles by persons with experience and/or a license to transport such products. All pesticides produced in Synthos AGRO are subject to the same detailed inspections and quality standards regardless of the target market.
Safe and sustainable use
Synthos AGRO promotes safe, conscious and responsible use of plant protection products pursuant to the regulations and standards of applicable law according to the principles of integrated pest management and the commonly accepted good agricultural practice. Our Traders educate farmers and fruit-growers during numerous training sessions and field meetings. They point out to the importance of choosing right protection measures and techniques for their use, but also to the significance of safety in the scope of handling plant protection products at every stage: storage, filling and washing of the sprayer, applications, empty packaging disposal.
Organic farming
Synthos AGRO promotes ecological methods of cultivation and protection of plants as a management system with possibly sustainable crop and animal production, at the same time providing the users with plant protection products authorised for use in organic farming, such as: MIEDZIAN 50 WP, MIEDZIAN EXTRA 350 SC i AKAROL 770 EC. In addition, through organized educational campaigns, it promotes the benefits of such management among farmers.
Consulting and training
Synthos AGRO provides professional technical support, including trainings, conducted by Key Account Managers and dedicated to farmers and fruit-growers, the PPP Expert, available at the following phone number: +48 33 847 27 45. The team of Synthos AGRO specialists supports the recipients of products at every stage of their use.
The SZOK Recycling Programme
The company Synthos AGRO actively participates in the system of returnable SZOK packagings, organised by Zakłady Chemiczne Organika-Azot S.A. Its aim is to effectively and safely neutralize packaging waste contaminated with plant protection products. The packaging returned by the farmers is collected at points of sale in special, labelled bags and containers that limit the risk of contamination or poisoning. Waste is collected systematically by a local operator, a company permitted to transport and collect it, and then transported for final disposal using the latest permitted technologies.
Quality packaging
All packages in which Synthos AGRO plant protection products are stored meet the quality and strength standards. Pesticides are packed, stored and disposed in accordance with the applicable regulations and UN recommendations concerning transport of dangerous goods, including the standards respected by international organisations which deal with specific types of transport (e.g. ICAO4, IMO5, RID6, ADR7 and IATA8). In order to ensure the highest quality of packaging, Synthos AGRO cooperates with the largest producers of bottles and canisters in Europe. Due to the variety of substances and applications of plant-protection products, Synthos AGRO markets packaging of various weights, using HDPE packaging and barrier packaging, i.e. HDPE/PA, HDPE/EVOH and fluorinated containers. The diversification of suppliers and knowledge of the packaging market enables the company to adapt to the customer’s requirements.
Waste control
Synthos AGRO uses selective storage of waste in appropriate containers, in specially designated places and in a manner that is safe to the environment and human health. It also takes into account physical and chemical properties of waste while complying with applicable regulations. Synthos AGRO conducts rational resource management in order to limit the amount of waste generated. The company also performs its own cleaning tests of sprayer tanks in which the liquid spray remains after the treatment. The results of these tests allow to define simple activities that ensure effective cleaning of tanks.
Responsible cooperation
The packaging returned by the farmers is collected at points of sale in special, labelled bags and containers that limit the risk of contamination or poisoning. The waste is collected systematically by the operator and then transported for final disposal using the latest permitted technologies.
